A Statement from the Artist
My name is Olayinka Omotara
I am a self taught Nigerian-artist living in Canada with a focus on mind blowing mandala drawings. Ever since I decided to put ink on paper and create, the artistic world has swallowed me and taken me on an intense journey of self discovery.
Funny thing is I recently found this artistic bone December 2023 and I started practicing January 2024. You see art found me. This particular type of intricate drawings that require a level of patience, a level of chill, and a level of pace, found me, wrapped me and engulfed me to the extent that no one could believe that I drew that.
Yes it saw me, it knew I needed saving and it saved me. It tugged at my heart, grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the dark abyss.
My drawings are deep, filled with a lot of emotions. The more you stare at it, the more it reels you into a state of zen.
You might not be as shocked as my family but I hope you enjoy my art and I hope it gives you some type of peace from within.
